About Me
My name is Matt Holloway. I started ClipToolkit because I kept running into the same problem: the guides I found online explained what to do, but not why something wasn't working, or what to do when the software behaved differently from the tutorial.
I've been editing video for about four years. Started with music clips — my own and a few for other people — then short-form content for social, then a couple of short film projects that ended up at festivals. Along the way I worked through most of the tools that people actually use: CapCut for anything fast and phone-based, DaVinci Resolve for anything that needs proper colour work, Premiere when I'm collaborating with someone who's already in that ecosystem, After Effects when a clip needs motion graphics I can't fake any other way.
I'm not a professional in the industry sense — no studio, no crew, no clients on retainer. I work independently, which means I've had to figure out the low-budget version of most production problems. That's the perspective this site comes from.
ClipToolkit covers video editing tools, music video production, and short-form content for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The guides are written for people who are doing this themselves and want to know what actually works, not what the software's marketing page says it does.
